I am making a dune buggy and need to draw a plan for it. I would like to use drafting software.

Depends, honestly AutoCAD and CadKey are about the pinnacle for professional drafting. Which matches the attached price tag. Blender is a real great modeler but may not lend itself to your need. Try Blender blender anyway and then give, FreeCAD, Archimedes, qcad and brlcad a try. Hopefully one suites your needs.
